The Musica Alta Ripa is a German baroque music ensemble and was established in 1984. Since then the group achieved extraordinary success in numerous concerts and collaborations with various radio stations. One special interest of the ensemble is to work together with vocal soloists in an effort to reclaim for musical practice the fascinating repertoire of cantatas of chamber instrumentation. 

The name of the ensemble tributes to Hanover: All members live there and they got important stimuli for their musical endeavours at the Hanover Academy of Music.

Danya Segal: born in London, private study with W. Bergmann (London) and F. Conrad (Hanover), subsequent study at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with W. v. Hauwe and K. Boeke, concert performances in various early music ensembles.

Anne Röhrig: study with W. Heutling at the Hanover Academy of Music, occupation with the baroque violin during her studies, concerts, radio broadcasts, and recordings over the years with numerous renowned ensembles, member of the London Baroque (1983-84), Concertmaster of the "Capella Agostino Steffani", "Das kleine Konzert", and "La Stagione" of Frankfurt.

Ursula Bundies: Violin study at the Hanover Academy of Music with B. Koerppen, occupation with the baroque violin during her studies, continuing education in courses and in collaboration with other baroque musicians, freelance violinist since 1983, member of various ensembles and orchestras, including "Das kleine Konzert", "Capella Agostino Steffani", "La Stagione", and "Les Adieux", baroque violin instructorship at the Würzburg Academy of Music during 1989-1990.

Albert Brüggen: Studied with Eilias Arizcuren and Dmitri Ferschtman in Amsterdam and completed his studies in 1933. He was the solo cellist in the Holland Youth Orchestra and a member of the New Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra of Amsterdam from 1988 to 1991. He participated in master classes led by Nathalia Gutman and Colin Carr and received the second prize at the Eindhoven International Competition in 1992. He has since gone on to perform in many European early music orchestras, among them the «Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century», the «Freiburg Baroque Orchestra», and «Les Musiciens du Louvre», and in a number of smaller ensembles. He is a member of the Ensemble Amadé.

Juris Teichmanis: Studied under Christoph Henkel in Freiburg and under Martin Ostertag in Karlsruhe before rounding off his education under Anner Bijlsma and Lidewij Schiefes in Amsterdam. Since then he has been active mainly in the field of early music and has served as a member and guest of numerous ensembles, including the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Berlin Academy of Early Music, Concerto Köln, Orchestre des Champs-Èlysées of Paris, Cantus Cölln, and La Stagione of Frankfurt. Concert tours have taken him through Europe, the United States, South America, and Southeast Asia.

Bernward Lohr: Study of music education at the Hanover Academy of Music, harpsichord study with L. Rovatkay, study of German philology at the University of Hanover, historical instrumental diploma under G. Wilson at the Würzburg Academy of Music, concerts, radio broadcasts, and recordings with various early music ensembles, harpsichord coach at the Hanover Academy of Music.
