18-day-experience in Europe with newly-designed pedagogical course, choral conducting master class

and an international summer academy for performing artists

Take along the traces of music giants Liszt, Mozart, Brahms, Strauss

On the occasion of the 200th Birthday of Franz Liszt and the Liszt anniversary year in 2011 we will on behalf of Beijing Kodaly Institute organize a Chinese delegation of music educators to go to Hungary to participate the 26th International Kodaly Seminar. This activity will be strongly assisted by Hungary Embassy and Zoltan Kodaly Pedagogical Insitute of Music, Liszt Conservatory of Music. Considering the language difficulties and diversity of Chinese music education and training method Zoltan Kodaly Pedagogical Institute of Music has specially designed a suitable courses for Chinese delegation, which will focus more on the following aspects: From Unison to Harmony, notation technique; Singing precisely: from tempo to polyphony; Basic capability of singing polyphony; Phonation and intonation of children chorus.
 
The issues of registration for the 26th International Kodaly Seminar are now nationwide in China launching. The biannual Kodály Seminar is now in the year of 2011 announcing its brand new season with a new pedagogical course in Kodály-based music education, a choral conducting master class and a newly designed Kodály Summer Academy (KSA) for instrumentalists. The programme will bring world-renowned master teachers and performing artists to Kecskemét, Hungary for an unparalleled combination of summer music education and musical performances. Meanwhile, the demonstration classes with kindergarten and primary schools will be arranged to observe the real effect of Kodaly education methodology.


The Kodály Art Festival offers a wide range of engaging concerts, enriched by the master classes, exhibitions and workshops. During the two weeks of the programme, participants and audiences alike step into an intimate world replete with musical energy and creative activity, a world in which classical music expresses its power to unite body and soul.


Active participants of the choral conducting master class will have an opportunity to conduct at the final concert of the course while participants of the Kodály Summer Academy will have the chance to perform in the capital of Hungary, Budapest, in one of three different concert venues like the Kodály Memorial Museum, the Bartók Memorial House and the Franz Liszt Museum.


Along Liszt’s traces in Europe the Chinese delegation will enjoy the varied European scenery of Hungary and Austria to commemorate Liszt year.
